Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus globulus · MyrtaceaeIn one paragraph
Eucalyptus is an Australian tree whose leaves are distilled to an oil dominated by 1,8-cineole, the compound behind its penetrating, camphorous clarity. It is one of the most instantly recognisable aromas in the whole apothecary, and a little carries a long way.
How Nurtur Health uses it
Eucalyptus essential oil is used in the Evergreen and Eucalyptus Chest Rub and the recovery bath soak, where the point is the aroma of the steam as much as anything applied to skin.
Traditional use
Traditionally used in steams and in warming rubs. Its association is with cold weather and with the feeling of clear breathing.
