Rose absolute
Rosa damascena · RosaceaeIn one paragraph
Rose absolute is extracted from damask rose petals with solvent rather than steam, which preserves heavier aromatic molecules that distillation loses. The result is darker, richer and closer to the living flower than rose otto, and it is used in very small quantity.
How Nurtur Health uses it
Rose absolute is used in the Triple Rose face products, where it is the deepest of the three rose inputs.
Traditional use
Damask rose has the longest cosmetic record of any rose, and its association with the face and with mature skin is close to universal across traditions.
