Vetiver
Vetiveria zizanioides · PoaceaeIn one paragraph
Vetiver is a tropical grass, and it is the root that is distilled. The oil is thick, dark and slow, smelling of damp earth and smoke. It is one of the great fixatives in perfumery, holding lighter notes in place for far longer than they would last alone.
How Nurtur Health uses it
Vetiver appears in the beard oil, where its depth anchors the conifer notes above it.
Traditional use
Traditionally used in India and Southeast Asia in cooling preparations and in scenting, and valued as much for what it does to a blend as for itself.
