Castor
Ricinus communis · EuphorbiaceaeIn one paragraph
Castor oil is unusually thick and high in ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid found in almost nothing else. It is tacky and glossy, and in a formula it is used in small proportion for the shine and cling it gives rather than as a main carrier.
How Nurtur Health uses it
Castor oil appears in the hair oil, where the slip and shine it gives are the point.
Traditional use
One of the oldest oils in cosmetic use, with a long tradition in hair preparations in particular.
