Cocoa
Theobroma cacao · MalvaceaeIn one paragraph
Cocoa butter is the fat pressed from cacao beans. It is harder and more brittle than shea, melts close to body temperature, and carries a faint chocolate aroma that survives into the finished product. In a formula it provides structure.
How Nurtur Health uses it
Cocoa butter is used in the body butter, where it firms what mango butter alone would leave too soft, and in the hands-and-feet balm.
Traditional use
Long used in preparations for stretched and dry skin, and one of the classic butters of the cosmetic tradition.
