Coconut
Cocos nucifera · ArecaceaeIn one paragraph
Coconut oil is high in medium-chain saturated fats, which makes it unusually light and quick to absorb compared with its solid appearance. Fractionated coconut oil stays liquid and is almost indefinitely stable, which is why it is the form used here.
How Nurtur Health uses it
Coconut oil is used where a formula needs to melt readily and absorb without heaviness — whipped into the body butter, and carrying the aromatics in the chest rub.
Traditional use
Used across the tropics for skin and hair, and one of the most widely used plant fats in the world.
