Nigella

Nigella sativa · Ranunculaceae
In one paragraph

Nigella sativa — black seed, black cumin — gives a dark oil with a sharp, peppery, almost bitter aroma that carries through into anything it is blended into. It holds thymoquinone, the compound most associated with it. It is used sparingly.

How Nurtur Health uses it

Nigella oil is part of the hair oil blend, where a small proportion contributes to the character.

Traditional use

One of the most storied plants in Middle Eastern and South Asian traditional use, with a very long record in skin and hair preparations.
