About this one

Balsam fir tips are gathered by hand in the Muskoka region at the point in the season when the plant is at its strongest, then dried slowly before going into organic olive oil for a six-week maceration. Wild harvesting is done sparingly — never more than a small share of any stand.

The resinous, forest-green scent is the plant itself, not an added fragrance. Reach for it after a hike, a long day on your feet, or anywhere muscles feel tight and tired.

In the blend

Organic olive oil (Olea europaea)
Wildcrafted balsam fir tips (Abies balsamea)
A small measure of grain alcohol (infusion process only — not present in the finished oil)

Ingredients

*Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil, **Abies balsamea (Balsam Fir) leaf, Ethanol (Alcohol)

*Organic ingredient · **Wildcrafted

Directions

Massage liberally to areas in need. Store away from light. For external use only.

Questions people actually ask

How should I patch-test it?

A pea-sized amount on the inner forearm, twice a day for five days, on the same spot. Reactive skin often responds on day three or four rather than immediately.

Is it safe during pregnancy or for children?

Speak with a qualified practitioner before using herbal products on children, during pregnancy, while nursing, or alongside medication.

Why is it sometimes unavailable?

Every infusion takes six weeks before it can be bottled, so the range moves in batches. Join a waitlist and you will hear the morning it is back.

Cautions

Always patch-test the first time you use a new product. Do not use on open cuts or wounds. Consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

How it is made

Every Nurtur infusion is a six-week cold maceration using the alcohol-intermediary method taught by Master Herbalist Kami McBride.
