About this one

Sustainably wild-harvested St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) flowering tops gathered fresh at peak potency, infused in extra-virgin olive oil.

A red color from yellow flowers? If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.

- Henriette Kress

This deep red oil is known to soothe overworked skin and makes a wonderful massage oil for overworked, sore, and stiff muscles that need some extra love. It has traditionally been used for growing pains, nerve pain, restful sleep support and more

Herbalist Matthew Becker writes: “St. John’s Wort loves to grow in the sun, the hotter the better… it brings a lot of the energy and warmth of the sun into your body-it is very noticeable.  It’s not just an antidepressant, it actually can warm up your psyche, make you feel more comfortable, more relaxed, and loosen up the mental joints that are stiff from the cold and dark.”

This oil is concentrated, so a little goes a long way! To transform into a lovely massage oil, blend it with an equal part of almond, sunflower, grapeseed or jojoba oils. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oils.

This oil is made by alcohol-intermediary method that I learned from Master Herbalist Kami McBride. This method leads to a very potent, shelf-stable extraction.

This is not an essential oil but a whole flowering top extraction: the whole plant infuses into the oil, not just isolated compounds, which makes it gentler and safer on skin.

Infused oils aren't weaker, they're differently potent — a whole-plant, broad-spectrum extract (all the plant's compounds, at a use-ready concentration) versus essential oil's narrow, hyper-concentrated distillate of just the volatile compounds. Infused oil doesn't need diluting because it already comes at a skin-ready strength; essential oil is “stronger” only in the sense that it must be diluted before you can safely use it at all.

For topical use only. May cause photosensitivity
